IPL 9 2016 Points Table
The Vivo IPL 2016 will be played from 9th April to 29th May 2016. All the 8 teams of IPL 2016 will play two matches each against every opponent team in the tournament during group stage. Points table will play very important role in the tournament as the 4 top teams of group stage will qualify for the next stage while the top 2 teams have more chances to play final match as compared to 3rd and 4th team. These teams have to win the eliminator and 2nd quarter final in order to qualify for the final while the top 2 teams only have to won once in the 1st quarter final or in the 2nd quarter final to reach the final of the tournament.
According to the points table, every winning team will get 2 points while loser team will not get any point. In case of draw match, both the teams will get 1 point each. Due to this reason, all the teams will try their best to win as many matches as possible in order to get top 2 or at least top 4 positions after group stage.
